Guthrie is a charming small town and within the town, you will find a very old house that is currently utilized as a hotel and 602 Bistro at Dominion House Restaurant lies within. We really enjoy this beautiful restaurant. The Dominion House is located at 818 N Oak St, Guthrie, OK 73044. This is the perfect venue for a wedding. In the wintertime, they have light-up heated igloos on the grounds for your family to enjoy a fun dinner. This is a must-visit place!

One of the questions I get asked a lot is what I think is going to happen to the housing market moving forward into 2021. I usually refer my clients to Fannie Mae and their forecasting which support an overall growth in home prices of 4% in 2020 compared to 2019. Zillow also is reporting a forecasted growth in 2021 of 7% in the 12 months ending September 2021. For clients looking to downsize or more importantly find a home that better suits what family living has evolved into with the desire for backyards, office space, and bigger kitchens, now is the time to look for that new forever home.
  • With the low-interest rates and the low inventory of used homes today there are some challenges, but with a long-term view you can come out ahead. If you are willing to invest some sweat equity in your new home the ability to look at homes that might be more affordable but hold value long-term with some upgrades that you can make over time. Upgrades that payoff are kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, curb appeal, fresh paint both interior and exterior, all of which most do-it-yourselfers can accomplish. Don't sell yourself short on needing a turn-key ready home when you are looking. There are plenty of homes that when you look past the paint, carpet and layout can be arranged to suit you and your family and provide you with a great investment long-term.
  • Wanted to pass along my recent experience at 602 Bistro at Dominion House in Guthrie. Located at 602 E. College, this dinner was a great experience. While my family and I enjoyed dinner across the board with the short ribs with garlic mash potatoes, the crab cake and pizza were show stoppers. Reservations are required as seating is limited, but don't miss out on a great date night location that is local and delivering great food.

  • After years of abandonment, the former Logan County Hospital building on West Warner Avenue has found new life. Hixon Construction company has announced they plan to turn it into a senior living center called The Villas of Benedictine.

  • Hoboken Coffee Roasters is a hip and cozy coffee shop in the charming town of Guthrie. The owners of Hoboken Coffee Roasters are a husband and wife team that roast their own offerings in what use to be old 'Willie's Tire' garage. Made in their avocado green Diedrich roaster in the front of the shop, you can find notes of caramel, honey, and chocolate their coffee. They make espresso and coffee drinks that are works of art, and you can also choose pastries which are baked from scratch every day to accompany your beverage. For non coffee drinkers, Hoboken also offers several flavors of kombucha which are made locally in Oklahoma City.

One of Hoboken's most lovable features is the atmosphere and decor of the converted space. Modern elements are combined with vintage pieces such as the original wood ceiling and antique cash register to create a unique, welcoming environment.
