For those living in NW Edmond, or looking at purchasing a new home in Edmond, you will want to take note of the new school additions and changes currently taking place.

First, Heartland Middle School, located at 4900 Explorer Drive on Pennsylvania between Danforth and Covell, is scheduled to open the summer of 2016. Heartland Middle sits adjacent to it's sister school, Frontier Elementary. This stunning two-level school features multiple school rooms that double as safe rooms, a special needs wing with dedicated safe room, along with many specified field training rooms (technology, architectural engineering, avionics, robotics, etc.) The architectural design of this school has learning and safety at the forefront. This is truly an amazing facility!

Secondly, the district is planning on constructing a fourth high school which will be located at Air Depot and Covell. The timeline for the fourth high school has yet to be determined, but plans are in place. Edmond growth, along with future bond support, will dictate the progress of construction.

I have attached a link to the new school boundaries for 2016-2017 school session. Obviously, the fourth high school will create additional change to boundaries in the future. The Edmond community continues to enjoy great growth, which is driven by arguably some of the best schools in the state and country. Edmond is a great community to look into if planning a move to the OKC area.
  • I have some home owner clients in Coffee Creek and Rose Creek in Edmond. I was talking with them today and they mentioned that Edmond's School transfer policy deadline is Friday! If your children are planning on attending another school in Edmond that is not actually your assigned school, then you need to complete the process. The district will not provide transportation for students who choose to attend a school other than the one assigned. So it's important to take note of this deadline if your child is attending Edmond schools. View the link below for more information. Good luck and enjoy your Edmond Schools choice!
