Ridgewood of Tracy Park was the first Tulsa neighborhood to be considered a district and the first to be nominated as a National Register of Historic Places. It is tucked inside the Inner Dispersal Loop and Peoria. There has been little change since its birth in the 1920s when there was a massive campaign to sell lots from $4,000.00 to $7,500.00 each. Currently, 68 single-family homes remain from the expressway construction that cut through the neighborhood in the late 1960s. The small neighborhood consists of two-story frames, bungalows, and brick homes originally built for Tulsa's oil boom small businessmen, managers, and professionals. There is a park featuring playgrounds, a splash pool, lighted tennis courts, gardens, and walking trails. 10,000 tulip bulbs and 2,000 pansies were planted by the Tulsa Parks Department for the community that still bloom today. Tracy Park was placed on Oklahoma Landmarks inventory in July 1978 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 20, 1982.
