  • If you are ever in Bartlesville or are looking for a destination to visit, try the Philips Petroleum Company Museum. This museum is a great place to visit and learn about the history of the Bartlesville area and how Frank L. Wright helped to establish this northern community during the oil boom at the turn of the century. This museum is free to the public and contains all kinds of neat exhibits and historical information. This a great spot for kids and families to explore.

We are seeing some great weather and some even better weather heading this way. Next week, on Wednesday, we are looking at a high of 66 degrees and a low of 43 degrees. Considering that eight years ago, on this date, it was 110 degrees. So today 73 now and the high is supposed to be 88, it is going to be a great day.

Obviously, I'm old. Because I am always talking about the weather. Our forecast for the next two weeks is outstanding. We have a chance of rain every day, some days it's only a 10% chance, but it's a chance. And not a single day is forecasted to hit 90 degrees. And so far we still have not had a triple-digit day this year.
  • Bartlesville, OK
We are closing out the last week of July and so far we have not seen triple digits yet. Five days left in the month and the weather reports and forecast is below normal temperature. It looks like we are looking at mid and the lower 80's and chances of rain. We have four days of chances of rain. So a cooler and wetter end of July sounds great.

After a week of intermittent rain, it is time to dry out. This week we had day after day of chances to rain and actual rain. It is really soggy and people can't get their yards mowed due to all the water. After today the forecast changes and we don't have any rain for a full week. So, this weekend, you will be hearing a lot of mowing going on. It is still great weather to go and enjoy the Pathfinder or one of our many parks.

Bartlesville, years ago, built a path that waves its way through parts of Bartlesville. The path goes through the woods and along the Caney River. It is a great way to spend some time and enjoy the peace and quiet and listen to the wind blowing through the trees and leaves. Everything is turning green and all the birds and butterflies out taking care of their business. My personal favorite stretch is form Silver Lake Road to the Caney River. The bridge over the river is incredible.

Ok, we feel like we are trapped inside. But we aren't, we can go outside. It is a beautiful day in Bartlesville and an outstanding day to go to the park for a picnic. Or we can even just have a picnic in your own yard if you would feel more comfortable. Being in the sun is a great mood changer and being in the sun makes you healthier or so I've heard.
  • The Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve is a fantastic place to explore for the whole family. Just south of Bartlesville, the Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve has wild animals, a huge art and cultural museum complex, a lookout tower you can climb, and a snack bar with cool beverages to enjoy. Being a resident of Tulsa, I make a pilgrimage to the Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve every year. There is always something new to see and experience. I love to take photographs of the animals, statues, and art work within the museum. It in many ways is the history of Oklahoma all in one place. Combining the old with the new, Native American culture, Western heritage, and the oil industries early origins in our state. If you are coming to Oklahoma or live here and have never been, do not miss the Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve.

So yesterday was a big day. Super Bowl, Groundhog Day and Palindrome Day 02-02-2020 backwards is 0202-20-20. And it got up to 70 degrees.

And today was the day the music died. When we lost Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. And again it got up to 70 degrees. Great weather, love the weather. Tomorrow's forecast is 35 degrees all day and raining then turning colder down to 30 and then down to 26 and snowing. Wouldn't trade it for anything. We get three seasons in three days. Gotta love Oklahoma weather.

The common saying in Oklahoma is, "If you don't like the weather wait five minutes."
Yesterday it was go enjoy the outdoors kind of day. Put on your shorts and short sleeve shirt and enjoy the outdoors. Today, it is freezing! Actually 35 degrees. But, with the wind it cuts right through you. So, today enjoy a fire and wait five minutes for spring to come back and tease us.

The last couple of days we had temperatures in the 60's. It had been really nice. Pleasant weather to rake the leaves or get a jump on your outside Christmas decorations. Tomorrow we have a chance of rain and temperatures in the 40's.

We unveiled a new Christmas feature at Fantasy Land of Lights in the park. Which is where we light up a park with Christmas decorations and play Christmas music. It is really nice to drive through. It is at Johnstone Park and it started Tuesday the 20th and goes through Christmas.

Gee whiz. When did it turn to winter? Yesterday it was in the 70's and then today it is in the 40's with wind and misting rain. Perfect time to buy a new home with a fireplace and some windows. I do believe that is my plan for the night. Go home and build a fire and read a book.

We have been waiting for this for quite awhile. It feels like fall has finally showed up. It got down to the mid 50's last night and is supposed to be in the 70's today. And the forecast for the week has Thursday down to 41 and then Friday a low of 34 and high of 54. Now that's something I can live with.

And finally the temperature has dropped and giving us the relief that we have been looking for. It is going to be great weather to get out and do things around Bartlesville.
